Spessartine, smoky quartz

For many years, similar specimens of shiny and clear spessartine with brownish tints from Tongbei in Fujian Province, China, appeared in abundance at every mineral exhibition. However, this is no longer the case, and these rich orange crystals are becoming increasingly rare, especially in attractive combinations with brown-colored quartz. This specimen offers a dignified example of the production from this declining locality. The captivatingly colored spessartine is complemented by a perfectly terminated brown quartz partially covered with white fluorescent hyalite.
