Copper on cuprite

An attractive specimen of sharply crystallized pure copper growing in the form of antlers on a contrasting base formed by black cuprite crystals. The specimen comes from the Russian deposit Rubcovsk, famous for the discovery of exceptional specimens of pure copper in 2009. Although it was a relatively abundant find, such compositionally successful specimens of copper on cuprite were few and far between.
