Painite

Painite is one of the borates with the most fascinating history. To this day, it is considered the rarest gem-quality mineral in the world. Until the beginning of this century, only three specimens were known to exist. It was only in recent years that painite crystals on matrix were discovered. Thanks to a groundbreaking discovery at the Kyauk-Pyat-That site in 2022, painite specimens of exceptional quality have come to light. This specimen is exceptional for the quality of its main crystal, which features a beautiful crystal termination, high luster, and clear gem-quality zones. The main painite crystal measures 1.3 cm.
