Painite

Painite is one of the borates with the most fascinating history. To this day, it is considered the rarest gem-quality mineral in the world. Until the beginning of this century, only three specimens were known to exist. It was only in recent years that painite crystals on matrix were discovered. Thanks to a groundbreaking discovery at the Kyauk-Pyat-That site in 2022, painite specimens of exceptional quality have come to light. The main painite crystal in this aesthetically appealing specimen measures 2.8 cm and is terminated on one side. The painite is accompanied by deep pink, lustrous ruby crystals scattered throughout the specimen.
