Painite

Painite is one of the borates with the most fascinating history. To this day, it is considered the rarest gem-quality mineral in the world. Until the beginning of this century, only three specimens were known to exist. It was only in recent years that painite crystals on a matrix were discovered. Thanks to a groundbreaking discovery at the Kyauk-Pyat-That site in 2022, painite specimens of exceptional quality have come to light. This specimen is characterized by its comprehensive quality parameters. It is a predominantly transparent, well-terminated crystal with high luster and an exceptionally fine composition. The painite crystal measures 1.2 cm.
