Spinel

This highly unusual spinel crystal from the Mogok region in Burma is remarkable for several exceptional features. It is characterized by a beautiful color, translucent zones, whimsical holes caused by secondary corrosion, and the completely unique presence of small, dark-red ruby crystals growing on the spinel crystal. Usually, spinel and ruby are found separately; their joint occurrence is rare.
