Color matters! This amethyst sample from the Goboboseb Mountains in Namibia clearly illustrates why local amethysts are considered among the best in the world thanks to their color. Such a rich purple color is difficult to find in other locations. The dominant crystal grows together with several smaller crystals on a base of volcanic rock covered with creamy calcite.
