Amethyst from the Goboboseb Mountains in Namibia – a larger specimen with delicate purple crystals growing from volcanic bedrock covered with whitish calcite crystals. A specimen with a harmonious and pleasing composition. An exceptional feature of the dominant crystal is its three colors – in addition to purple, it also contains brown (smoky) and colorless (crystal) zones. This phenomenon was caused by fluctuating iron content during crystal growth.
