Chalcocite

These typical chalcocite crystals on small transparent quartz crystals are a classic example of this mineral from the now forgotten locality of Dzhezkazgan in Kazakhstan. Once a thriving deposit, which in the 1990s greatly enriched the collectors’ market with exceptionally attractive specimens of copper minerals, it is now in decline. This small specimen is now a rare reminder of the good old days in Dzhezkazgan.
