Copper, cuprite, pseud. copper after cuprite

Attractive reddish, well-developed, shiny cuprite crystals growing on bushes of sharp pure copper crystals – this combination made the now defunct Russian deposit Rubtsovsk world famous in 2010–2012. In addition, this specimen also contains a unique phenomenon attractive to collectors – copper pseudomorphosis after cuprite, where the original cuprite mineral was replaced by pure copper crystals while retaining the original crystal shape of cuprite.
