This lovely specimen of dioptase and quartz from the Okandawasi site in Namibia comes from KARP’s own mining project. The dioptase crystals grow on quartz crystals of unusual shapes. In addition, they form inclusions within the quartz. Small crystals of light-colored calcite occasionally grow on the dioptase. At first glance, the specimen captivates with its contrasting colors and luster.
