Dioptase in quartz, calcite

This specimen of dioptase and quartz, shaped like a small cavity, from the Okandawasi site in Namibia comes from KARP’s own mining project. Some dioptase crystals grow on quartz crystals, while others form delicately colored inclusions inside them. Small crystals of light-colored calcite occasionally grow on the dioptase. At first glance, the specimen captivates with its contrasting colors and luster.
