Shattuckite in quartz

This striking specimen of shattuckite in a quartz cavity from the Okandawasi site in Namibia comes from KARP’s own mining project. Most of the sapphire-blue spherical aggregates of shattuckite grow on quartz crystals, though some also form inclusions within the quartz. At first glance, the specimen captivates with its contrasting colors and the luster of the secondary quartz covering the shattuckite.
